Facebook Inc. (NASDAQ:FB) is the world’s largest social media platform, it has experienced a major outage on Thanksgiving, across the continental US, with thousands of reports of problems flooding in to popular crowdsourcing site DownDetector.
FB Users reported that the outages across both Instagram and Facebook as both owned by the same company, but the WhatsApp appeared to be unaffected by the glitch. Facebook’s all three apps share much of the same underlying infrastructure, but at times often create a cascade effect, when a server goes down.
According to reports, at approximately 9:17 EST, The Facebook platform began experiencing issues, although the majority of outage reports stem from US, some has been of issues in Europe, South America and parts of Asia.
The frustrated users took to Twitter, as expected during this type of outages, just to vent out their dissatisfaction and concern regarding Facebook, that they may have to actually talk to their family members, during the Thanksgiving dinner.
