Prime Minister Modi arrived on stage for the mega event with President Trump. A US Congressional delegation welcomed Modi to the event. Moments before his arrival at the Stadium, Modi had replied to US President Trump’s tweet saying it surely will be a great day. Earlier, Trump had tweeted: “Will be in Houston to be with my friend. Will be a great day in Texas!” “We’ll be going to Houston and we’ll be at a very nice big stadium packed full of people,” Trump told newspersons on the South Lawns of the White House before leaving for Houston. Trump reached Houston for his joint rally with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, billed as probably one of the biggest events outside India by an Indian leader. The event Howdy, Modi will be attended by around 50,000 people and is billed as the biggest turnout on US soil for a foreign leader. Modi is expected to receive a rockstar welcome from the Indian community at the NRG Stadium in Houston. The prime minister will be joined by US President Donald Trump who is expected to deliver a 30-minute speech at the event.
President Trump has hinted that he will make some important announcements during his speech. Ahead of the event, the Prime Minister met Kashmiri pandits, Sikh community, and Dawoodi Bohra community in Houston. In a tweet, the prime minister’s office said Modi interacted with members of these communities during which they congratulated him on some of the path-breaking decisions taken by his government.
Modi will also meet several world leaders and address the UN General Assembly. Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan is also scheduled to address the UN where he may raise the Kashmir again.
